Nominate an Activist NOW!

The aims of the Hamilton and District Labour Council, as stated in its constitution, include:

  • Advancing the economic and social welfare of workers
  • Extending mutual assistance and collective bargaining
  • Promoting the cause of peace and freedom in the world
  • Protecting and strengthening democracy and human rights within the labour movement and within the political life of our city, province and country.

The Labour Council wants to recognize members of our movement and its allies who demonstrate a high level commitment to our aims through their activities in unions, the labour movement, and the community.

A leadership or a supporting role––it doesn't matter. What is the impact? What barriers or difficulties are overcome? Those are the questions to ask and answer.

Awards are presented in four categories: Lifetime, Sister, Friend, 2016 Labour Community Activist.

Nomination deadline: 5:00 p.m. on February 28, 2017
