McMaster University offers a Certificate in Labour Studies. The courses offer exciting, relevant, student-centered education for all adults.
Students complete 24 units of courses, where a unit is given for approx. 6 hours of instruction. Students complete four required courses (worth 2 units each) (Labour History, Parts I & II and Challenges, Parts I & II) plus 8 other courses (or 16 units equivalence).
Courses are designed to help workers become informed about the world they live in and to become active members of their unions and community.
Many of our graduates have gone on to play important roles in the local labour movement, in our community and have filled executive positions in both local unions and on the Hamilton and District Labour Council.
