Phone Zap in Support of IUOE 772

May 21, 2025

Join us in support of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 772 who are on strike from the City of Hamilton. Their 58 members are asking for wage parity with other employees who have less training and they have been on strike for over a week.

During this time, scabs have been brought in to do the work and the result has been pipe bursts across the city and a reservoir being emptied while part of the city was without water.

We are doing a Phone Zap to City Councillors to let them know that the small amount of money it will take to bring these employee’s salaries in line with their counterparts is miniscule compared to the millions of dollars in repairs the city has already caused through their negligent bargaining.

Join us on Friday at 6 p.m. to help via Zoom by registering HERE. You will be able to complete the action with your phone and hear the latest updates on messaging!
